About the Authors

 Steve Webster:
Father, Husband, Police Officer and Author

Steve Webster was raised in the Greater Portland, Maine area and has lived there his entire life; other than while serving with the US Army overseas in the early 1980’s.

  He was hired by the South Portland Police Department in 1987 and has served in a variety of roles including patrol, detectives, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and he is currently the supervisor in the Criminal Investigation Division.

  He has received numerous awards and commendations throughout his career, and considers it an honor to serve the residents of South Portland and the State of Maine.

  Steve is married, has three children, and he enjoys being outside and on his fishing boat when he can find the time.

  Steve will also be the first to admit that education was not a high priority when he was younger, but as he matured he grew to understand the importance of it. He successfully completed his BA in Criminal Justice and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Bellevue University in 2009.

  Trevor Maxwell: Co-Author

  Trevor Maxwell covers the court beat for the Portland Press Herald in Portland, Maine, where he has been a staff reporter since 2005. He grew up in Cumberland, graduated from Greely High School and has written for the Iowa City Press-Citizen, The Oregonian, The Cape Cod Times and the Lewiston Sun Journal.

  Trevor provided Steve with great counsel, the expertise that comes with a wide variety of writing experiences and the encouragement that is always necessary when a new endeavor is undertaken.  You can catch Trevor’s byline several times a week in Maine’s largest daily newspaper, the Portland Press Herald.
